Growing Your Emotional Intelligence "The
human brain, with its hundred billion nerve cells and its million billion connections,
holds boundless numbers of impressions... These are our memories which not only
exist at an impalpable, psychological or 'mental' level, but also have a corporeal
existence within the body's nervous system... We know that thoughts pertaining
to a memory can give rise to body-based emotions
and that there are many situations in which we have powerful somatic reactions
to experiences that may have long slipped beneath the surfaces of awareness."
From "Secrets, Lies, Betrayals: How the Body Holds the Secrets of a Life,
and How to Unlock Them" by Maggie Scarf
This
workshop focuses on learning and experiencing the power of the Psychomotor Exercises
and PBSP Structure process which assists you in growing your emotional intelligence.
Prerequisite: having done some previous Counseling/Therapy Workshop
Outcomes - know what is inside your
bodies' holding patterns
- make connections between thoughts,
feelings, behavior
- feel supported, confirmed, empowered

"A
basic tenet of this theory is that internalized, often very early memories of
experiences that felt catastrophic foster ways of looking at the world that are
filled with negative expectations... Like chaotic, scrambled bits of raw data
that haven't been processed and organized into a meaningful whole, these scattered
images and memories of feeling alone, unprotected, overwhelmed in an uncaring
universe create an underlying but all-pervasive outlook on life."

Mind/Body/Spirit
Practices for People with Busy Lives This training
is based on principles and practices from "The Life We Are Given"
by Michael Murphy and George Leonard. This is a do-able practice for people
with busy lives. It incorporates practices from eastern and western disciplines
and can be adjusted for people of all ages, with all kinds of needs.
Intentionality
& Open Heartedness In Buddhism, a practice is viewed as a path
or a stream. The metaphor of the stream invites you to imagine a strong but gentle
current that is already present and moves you along on your journey. Simply entering
the stream changes you, even if you decide to return to shore. But when you, with
intentionality and an open heart, keep practicing, you finally
become the flow. Ongoing, patient practice keeps you
on the path to integrated living which offers inner peace and a present moment
living which is grounded, relaxed, aware, centered and energized… this
flow is GRACE! "Stand like a mountain, move
like a river." Tai Chi instructor Come
and learn a 40 minute Practice that can increase your capacity for savoring the
good times, while supporting you through life's challenging times.
- Integral...
it incorporates practices for body, mind, heart and soul.
- Transformative...
it aims at long term positive personal change in body and being.
- Practice...
it involves long-term, regular disciplined activities which, above and beyond
any specific external rewards, are of value in themselves.

Experiences
in Earth-centered Spirituality Workshop/Retreat - Become more Conscious
of your Spiritual Earthcentered Self *5-7 participants
"The
notion of 'sacred space' can be better understood as a realm of inner experience,
ones inner landscape, if you will, that requires our informed attention if it
is to come to full flowering." Diarmuid ÓMurchú
("Reclaiming Spirituality") The body is the landscape
of the mind. How we think about who we are as embodied creatures on this planet
affects our health and well being. The sacred is an element in our consciousness.
Discovering this space in ourselves and learning how to nurture it brings a greater
sense of well being and authenticity... like coming home to yourself in a more
integrated, benevolent way. A meaningful spiritual life is inconceivable
without a meaningful planetary existence. Our will to meaning is stronger than
our strongest instinctual drives and desires. Spirituality can be misguided or
misplaced, but it cannot be absent in human life. This workshop offers you *experiences
to help you explore and ground your spirituality. WORKSHOP
OUTCOMES Feel more connected and comfortable - in your
spirituality,
- your spiritual experiences,
- your spiritual practices
"Shamanism teaches us that everything
that exists is alive and has a spirit, and that we are joined with the earth and
all of life via our spiritual interconnectedness."
From "Shamanic Journeying, A Beginners Guide" by Sandra Ingerman
"Spirituality is an innate quality of human
life and existence, something we are born with, something dynamic that forever
seeks articulation and expression in human beings."
